shooting at the sun

Thunder

You talk, I don't believe it
What you're saying, it's only words
You know action's what I need, so listen, don't you speak
This looks like my last chance to be heard

'Cause I know, yes I know
Every reason why he'll never let you go
But I don't care, it's so unfair

I can't stand waiting when it ain't right
Just hanging on for another night
Gonna take my dreams and my shattered pride and run
I'm a sad, lost loser in a two-horse race
I crossed the line in second place
I'd rather waste my time shooting at the sun

Time has made me weary
Once it was fun but now it's just a game
But you, you don't have to worry
You've got someone else so you won't feel the pain

'Cause I swear, yes I swear
That I'm never going down this road again
What's left for me but misery

'Cause I can't stand sitting here and cracking up
Waiting for you to call me up
I had a life worth living but now it's come undone
And I hate myself for all those lies
I took so long to realise
I'd rather waste my time shooting at the sun

'Cause I know, yes I know
Every reason why he'll never let you go
But I don't care, it's so unfair

I can't stand waiting when it ain't right
Just hanging on for another night
Gonna take my dreams and my shattered pride and run
I'm a sad, lost loser in a two-horse race
I crossed the line in second place
I'd rather waste my time shooting at the sun

'Cause I can't stand sitting here and cracking up
Waiting for you to call me up
I had a life worth living but now it's come undone
And I hate myself for all those lies
I took so long to realise
I'd rather waste my time shooting at the sun
