somehow he does

Ryan Kirkland

[Verse 1]
They say God forgives
And God Loves
But you don't know the things I've done

They say, you can't be too broke
Can't be too lost
And no one could ever love that much
I feel like no amount of grace could be enough
Because

[Chorus]
I'm a liar, I'm a thief
How could he ever love me
Well I don't know, somehow he does
But I'm drunk, and I'm a cheat
How could he, ever wash me clear
Well I don't know, but he does

[Verse 2]
All this guilt and this shame
Tell me does it ever go away

Cause I'm so sick, of this same place
I'm just a mess, unworthy of grace
How could he ever forgive me
I'm unclean, I'm unclean

I am?

[Chorus]

I was dead in my sin, barely able to breathe
Drowning myself in this sorrow so deep
Begging my God let this all be a dream
Let me wake up, let me wake up

I don't know what happened
Or why he even cared
I'm not worthy of rescue or the love that he shares
I'm dirty and broken, I'm beyond repair
Still he shows up, he still shows up

Now standing in place of my sin and my shame
Is a man that I know though I've never seen his face
And he calls the broken and gives them a place
They can stand up
we can stand up
This burden is lifted, my sins are forgiven
And my heart tells my head that this place is redemption
I'll never know how I did this alone
Because without you I am nothing
without you I am nothing

I am

[Chorus]

I'm a liar, I'm a thief
How could he ever love me
Well I don't know, but somehow he does
But I'm a drunk, and I'm a cheat
How could he, ever wash me clean
Well I don't know, but somehow
No, I don't know, but somehow
I don't know, but somehow he does
