mirage

Alice Merton

Lightning struck the town where I was from
The seamen warned it was a curse for years to come
What would happen to me? What would happen to them?
So I fled away and escaped the fate with eyes wide open

Chasing a mirage, wanting what I m not
Say that I m a fool for just pretending
Convoluted sins, come on, let me in
It s not my fault
I m in love with the mirage
I m in love with the mirage

Years of fears and fantasies started sinking
But the thoughts in the night never clouded the vision
What will happen to me? What will happen to them?
As I come to the edge of hope and despair
Screaming: Start the engine

Chasing a mirage, wanting what I m not
Say that I m a fool for just pretending
Convoluted sins, come on, let me in
It s not my fault
I m in love with the mirage
I m in love with the mirage

I m in love (I m in love, I m in love)
With the mirage
No, I want nothing else but
My one true faith and love

I m in love with the mirage
I m in love with the mirage
I m in love with the (I m in love)
I m in love with the (I m in love)
I m in love with the
I m in love with the mirage
